Chapter Spotlight: UNC Chapel Hill

"Nourish UNC is in full swing for the Spring of 2016. We started off our semester with a productive and energizing Exec retreat at the NINO house. Out of that retreat came a lot of enthusiasm, a successful Venture in the form of Mugs and Pugs, and some general organization and outlining of the weeks to come. Specifically, we are now nearing our re-launch of Hunger Lunch, a long-term venture that was discontinued near the end of last semester due to the loss of our caterer. Remodeling Hunger Lunch has been a work in progress for almost three months now. The 'remodeling' process, which primarily involves finding a new caterer and getting ready for a re-launch date of March 2nd, stagnated a bit over winter break. So the hours set aside for goal-setting at the exec retreat really helped get the whole process back on track and moving forward again. Now Hunger Lunch is looking to finalize a partnership with a local Indian restaurant called Vimala’s with an inspiring backstory. Additionally, regarding our summer project, we have selected student interns for our partnership with Mountains of Hope in Uganda and we are beginning the training process. Despite surprising twists and turns regarding our oldest Venture, various exec members leaving to study abroad, and all of the other challenges associated with a student organization, all of us at Nourish-UNC are making steady progress towards our goals and learning new lessons every day along the way!”
